Impossible List - 15 September

How far I've come over the course of the last month in regards to the impossible list of goals I've set for myself.

Professional

I've set my side project down in favour of spending time on my book and getting a new draft of that sorted by the end of the year.

Health / Fitness

I ran my first ultramarathon, 51km in 7:45:51, I could have gone faster, but all in all, I was within the cutoff, within my 8 hour estimate, and didn't die. We'll see how I get on with my next ultra in November it's about 2km longer and if I can finish in 7:45 or less I'm improving.

I'm looking to do two 50 mile races next year, but I've taken up the idea that I am surpassing expectations each time and actually finishing the races I am setting out to do. So I've set myself a 100 mile race next year as well. The idea being that it'll be a 50/50 chance if I survive it. I'll report back.

Personal Skills

I've picked up my book and have written a new rough draft of my first 10 chapters. I'm also tweaking the characters around and modifying the story. I'll get it nice and up to a second drat state and then move on to the second act.

Travel / Events

Everything is now waiting for my trip to America in November to spend Thanksgiving with my family.

Volunteering / Charity

I'm starting to step up when it comes to the running of Tayside Re-Users. If we can get some of our basics in place we should be in a better place to better understand our business and get it running smoothly making money. It will take another six months to start seeing some of the fruits of my labour though.

Education / Languages

I was looking at a foreign language course in Russian and I'd love to do it, but I'm not sure spending a grand on a year's worth of Russian courses is the best use of money. I need to find something more local and more conversational to really move me forward.

Financial

Just working hard in my role as React Tech Lead and trying to sort out my shop and put everything into a good status. We are moving forward, but this might take years.
