Impossible List - 15 February
How far I've come over the course of the last month in regards to the impossible list of goals I've set for myself.

Professional
The big things in my life are currently my book and running. Although I'm looking to get back to doing a little coding. I've got a good head of steam and constant delivery of work on my book. And my work on running is taxing, but I am hitting the necessary targets for my running so far. I've still got another 10 weeks before my first large 50 mile race.
Health / Fitness
I'm using AI to help me plan out my training for running and so far it appears to be fairly straightforward and feels like it is hitting the right notes. Not having been trained before I can't tell if it is doing a good or bad job, but we'll see going forward. I do like being able to use the AI paired with my fitness watch files of my runs to give me a progress report every two weeks. In the mean time, not to leave the rest of my training to an AI, I am reading into ultra running training programs so I can help understand what the AI is suggesting and also guide it in areas it might not know about.
Took a week out of training to pre-empt a niggle I felt in my shin.First day of running back and I feel good.
Still on the band wagon for not drinking this year. Regretting it, but I'm sure my waist will thank me.
I'm also on track for losing weight hopefully at the rate of 1lb a week. But that whole journey will be harder. Hopefully my running training will help spend calories and keep me roughly on track even if I slip and eat too many calories.
Personal Skills
I think if I take it slow with my novel I should be in a good place by the end of this year having written another draft and then I can begin to work on editing individual character story arcs. I'm considering putting the book away at that point and spending a period of time on a coding project o get away from the writing.

Travel / Events
My eyes are always big when it comes to travel, but this year is not heavy in travel. I'm planning a short trip to Lithuania to see Nick Cave play and for Louise's birthday I'm thinking we could take a boat out to St. Kilda.
No adventures after that that go out of the country. In the end I didn't want to spend all of my allowance on one trip, particularly when I need to buy so much gear for the longer races I want to run in. I might consider trying to get into the 2027 Marathon des Sables.
Volunteering / Charity
I'm working on getting the basics set in place for Tayside Re-Users. Beyond that we need to focus on tackling costs and targeting higher sales to help set ourselves up for the future.
We are not on target to make a profit this year, but hopefully 2026/2027 will be our comeback.
Education / Languages
I've been reading a lot, but no focused education has really been looked at lately. Still need to win the lottery to give this too much more focus. I am hoping to read 36 books this year, I'm currently 3 books in.
Financial
Just working hard in my role as Staff Engineer and trying to sort out my shop and put everything into a good status. We are moving forward, but this might take years. I am also starting to look outside Insights a bit and start to plan what my next career steps my take.
