Day Six: Tom, Trail Names, and the Campsite with Minimal Poop

Before we get to the walking, I need to tell you about Tom.
How far I've come over the course of the last month in regards to the impossible list of goals I've set for myself.
No snow. I awoke to absolutely no snow. The tops of the hills were white, I could see that much, sitting there looking smug from a distance, but down where we were, camping in the cold like a pair of optimistic idiots, there was nothing.
We set off expecting the worst. The forecast had been grim, the clouds were doing their thing, and we were fully suited up before we'd even left the hotel.
We woke up refreshed. This was unexpected and very welcome.
Day two of any multi-day walk is when the romance wears off and the realism moves in.
